The research projects within HoLMiR are organized into three main areas investigating the interactions between the microbiome and nutrition, animal health, and the animal genome.
Biostatistics and bioinformatic research groups are firmly integrated in all research foci. Collaboration among the groups begins at an early stage as the researchers begin to design the experiments. One of the goals is to reduce the number of animal experiments to the minimum that will allow accurate scientific conclusions.
